We run numerous programmes every year at Latymer Upper School, where we provide free educational activities for children from local maintained primary or secondary schools. These are delivered by our Latymer staff, and supported by our Year 9-12 students who volunteer their time, and share their skills.
We work with our partner schools to identify the students most likely to benefit from these programmes, especially if they would not have access to these resources and experiences otherwise, and/or are eligible for Free School Meals. The hope is that they will thrive and develop increased confidence and aspirations.
There is a wide and exciting range of topics and experiences covered by these programmes, but across each we are aiming for the impact on the children to be:
- A sense of fun and enjoyment
- A chance for social mixing and making new friends
- An increase in confidence
- Increased aspirations
- The development of new skills and knowledge
