Fatima (Class of 2016)

Fatima joined Latymer’s Sixth Form on a full bursary having been brought up on the White City estate. She studied Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy at A Level and is now reading Medicine at Imperial College London. Her dream has always been to be a doctor.

Latymer’s Director of Admissions described Fatima as “someone who was interested in everything and hugely enthusiastic”. Alongside her four    A Levels Fatima found time to volunteer at a local charity helping children with reading, practise Taekwondo and participate in a wide variety of sports, as well as getting involved in debating and playing chess. She also found time to achieve her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. Fatima certainly made the very most of her time at Latymer.

In Year 12, when she was 17, Fatima wrote:

“As I sit here writing this letter surrounded by my A-Level textbooks and folders, I can’t help but wonder how differently my life would have panned out if I hadn’t gone to Latymer. Latymer has given me unique academic and extra-curricular opportunities so now I am able to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor knowing that I have a strong foundation and a team of supportive staff behind me.”
