On Thursday 3 February, over 100 members from the Latymer community gathered in the Recital Hall at Latymer with another 50 households watching from home as three leading art specialists, Letizia Treves (National Gallery), Xavier Bray (The Wallace Collection) and Andrew Fletcher (soon to join Christie’s) discussed “Does Art Matter?”. A truly fascinating evening about art during the pandemic, the role of galleries, museums and auction houses in an increasingly virtual world and the importance of getting young children engaged in art. The evening raised an amazing £2,000 to the Latymer Upper School Bursaries Appeal. A big thank you to everyone that attended and especially to our three inspiring panellists.
