The focus on social inclusion is as strong at Latymer now as it was when we were founded 400 years ago. We take our responsibility for being a ‘good neighbour’ seriously with community and charity partnerships at the heart of Latymer life.
One of the School’s aims is to educate our children into a recognition of their wider social responsibilities, particularly through educational activities including community links and partnership schools, to prepare them to become active citizens within their community. Latymer Partnerships arrange for all Lower Sixth students to undertake voluntary service in our local community for a sustained period. Helping others is of great value to their wider education through encouraging social responsibility, commitment to action and developing self-awareness.
We partner with 250 local schools, organisations and charities with more than 3000 local children taking part in our activities each year. In 2024, in addition to our core partnership programmes, we have invited schools to join us for educational art workshops at Cromwell Place during Latymer’s murmaration exhibition and local state secondary school children will be invited to watch performances of the 400th Commemorative School Play, Love. Liebe. Lyubov at Richmond Theatre.
